What’s your favorite Brazilian beach? We’d like to know and maybe even feature it in an upcoming Brazil Magazine issue. In the picture is one of our favorite Rio de Janeiro beaches, Praia do Recreio which is located in Recreio dos Bandeirantes or simply Recreio as locals call it, in Zona West of Rio de Janeiro. It’s about a 40 minute drive, depending on traffic from the tourist areas of Zona Sul (Copacabana and Ipanema) but it is well worth the drive if you like uncrowded white sand beaches good for surfing, swimming, beach volleyball and clear water.
Recreio does get crowded on the weekends and traffic can be a problem so the best time to go is during the week when the access is easy.
If you want to relax without being hassled by beach vendor, large crowds and noise. This is a perfect beach to spend your day.
Have you been to Brazil? What’s your favorite beach? Tell us about it and why in a comment below and we may feature it in an upcoming Brazil Magazine issue.
